The Sacred and the Profane.

In the world there are many different beliefs on religion and how the world started. Personally, I am a Pentecostal Christian which I believe is the most logical religion. All religions haves arguments for and against the other and their sacred sites. I.e. There is argument that Jesus died on a stake not a cross (traditionally sacred symbol to the Christian belief) and that there is even a strong argument that the Muslim prophet Muhammad was not born in the sacred city of Mecca.

My belief is that everything around us is Sacred. I believe this, because in my relgion it is said that all has been created in one breath by the Lord God (or as refered to as the Creator). I believe our Christian Calendar, in Australia, and our 7day week is also sacred; even though there is a strong argument against the Christian Calender with Easter and Christmas not on the same dates as they were 2000 years ago. I believe it is not the day we celebrate these events but rather if we set aside the days to bring our glory and praise to God for these special events.

Well if you agree with me so far the question has changed from what is scared to; What is profane? And; How do we describe profane? Well with me I believe that profane is a religious myth; because the Christian bible tells me that all things great and small have been created by God. So therefore if the creator created them then they must be sacred and be looked after.
